About Benny

As a Dublin based freelance Visual Effects Artist, Animation Director, Illustrator and Filmmaker maker Ian Benjamin Kenny is an experienced Artist with a demonstrated history of working in the media production industry. Strong arts and design professional, Ian has a broad skill set including 2D and 3D animation, Motion Graphics, Illustration, Visual Effects, Compositing even Puppet Building.

Ian has worked with many leading entertainment companies such as BBC, PBS, RTÉ, Facebook, Crossing The Line Productions, Fastnet Films, Fire Brand, Kite Entertainment, Planetary Resources, NewsTalk, Cawley Nea\TBWA, Diageo amongst others.  

With an impressive track record his original animated CGI visuals for Emmy-award winning documentary The Farthest saw him personally nominated for the Best VFX award at IFTA in 2017. That same year he won the ‘Kids Choice Award’ for his work on Brain Freeze (RTE) at the Irish Animation Awards. Most recently he was nominated in three categories (Best Art Direction, Best Animation and Best Visual Effects) at the Irish Animation Awards 2019.
