Choose One Character

FRAN
ROBIN

Character 1: Robin

Character Type:
Robin is a quiet, thoughtful kid with a shy and unconfident nature. Robin’s small frame and hesitant body language reveal a child who’s been through a lot - recently recovering from illness and still finding strength. Beneath that timid exterior, however, lies remarkable courage and emotional depth. Robin’s love for Grandad drives our hero to face fears far greater than themself, and by the end, Robin transforms from a nervous, cautious child into a brave and determined young warrior who refuses to give up.

Improv Audition Scenario:
Pretend you’re alone in the woods collecting sticks. You hear something move behind you — a strange whisper. Show your fear building as you try to convince yourself it’s nothing. Then you find a glowing rock that suddenly stops glowing when you touch it. Act out your curiosity, awe, and the moment of decision when you decide whether to keep it or run back to camp.

Character 2: Fran

Character Type:
Fran is an inventive, curious, and slightly nerdy kid with a huge imagination and an even bigger heart. Always tinkering with gadgets, a self-taught “farmyard engineer” whose enthusiasm sometimes outpaces his caution. Fran dreams of online fame for his homemade inventions, but this overconfidence often lands Fran in trouble - like accidentally creating a mutant dinosaur-chicken hybrid. Despite a youthful awkwardness, Oscar’s courage, intelligence, and love for Mammy shine through when things get dangerous. Fran’s journey balances humour, fear, and genuine emotion, proving that even a kid can save the day (and the farm).

Improv Audition Scenario:
You’re filming a new episode of your homemade science YouTube show - proudly explaining your latest invention, an “eco-electric fence.” At first, you’re excited and confident, but as the device begins to spark and hum out of control, your performance turns from enthusiasm to panic. Show that full emotional range: curiosity, confidence, sudden fear - and how you try to hold it together for the camera as everything goes wrong.
